What if we directed Evangelion?

Freddie and Gareth discuss if Evangelion should have had more episodes or even, potentially, less episodes of which to tell this cult anime's tale of Mechs, Human interaction and governmental conspiracies. 
Neon Genesis Evangelion is held in high regard amongst the anime fandom but what would we change if we had any control over the story telling? What tales would we tell? How would we change the tone?
